Maria Rita is in charge of keeping in with Our Lady Holy Mary’s altar, replacing its candles and flowers. She breaks the statue by accident. Fearing getting caught, she throws the broken pieces into a nearby well. The next day, the inhabitants of the village gather to look for the statue, following the path that Maria Rita has taken the night before.
