About Anna Widerberg

Anna Widerberg Anna Widerberg is a Swedish author, writer, communicator, and filmmaker based in Västerås. She grew up in Mölndal and on Getterön outside Varberg. During the 1990s, she worked for ten years as a journalist at VLT in Västerås. She later trained as a deacon and worked in several parishes, leading grief support groups and participating in social projects. In the early 2010s, she served as a political secretary for the Green Party in Västmanland and later worked as a communicator and web editor for the City of Västerås. Since 2016, she has been a freelancer, running her own business in writing, film, and web content. Anna Widerberg’s writing is characterized by deep explorations of grief and existential themes. Her debut book, Tiden är människornas ängel (2020), is a self-biographical account of losing a loved one to suicide and the grief that follows. In addition to her writing, she gives lectures and workshops where she shares her experiences and insights on grief, loss, and the healing power of writing. She also co-hosts a podcast with her brother, where they discuss books and literature. She is currently working on the documentary film Min bror Ted (My Brother Ted), a personal and in-depth portrait of the musical legacy and relationship between brothers Ted and Kenneth Gärdestad.
